VAT exemption:
the Italian commercial regime
The ICE (Italian Commercial Regime) REGIME allows a commercial yacht to achieve zero VAT on the purchase of goods in accordance with Art.8bis of the Presidential Decree no. 633/1972.
To meet this condition, the commercial yacht has to prove that at least 70 % of its navigation in the previous year has been carried out in international waters (in terms of number of charters) including navigation outside the Italian waters (i.e. International waters or national waters of a country other than Italy).
